Janet Pullen TIMELINE 1.jpg

I am pleased to be exhibiting this piece Doing Time - a timeline for coping with a prison sentence by marking off or counting down the days. It was created for my MA Textiles course, but was not exhibited then because of the pandemic. Restrictions on freedom touched us all during lockdown, but confinement of any sort – social, physical or mental – may involve similar ways of dealing with it.

My piece ‘After Grete’ was inspired by 1930s ceramics of Grete Marks.

MARKING OUR WAY

........ a body of work completed during the pandemic, when spending more time at home presented an opportunity to take stock, reflect on the way we work, the work we make and the work we admire.

......... for details of the book which accompanied the exhibition in July in Letchworth, see Marking Our Way
