MA SHOWCASE

I completed the MA Textiles course (with distinction) at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, UK, in 2020.

My project explored the barriers which result in enclosure and confinement, and the effect of reduced freedoms on creativity. The notion of people who are deprived of their liberty finding the activity of stitching a positive experience inspired the work;  the challenges of limited freedom and opportunities to be creative are applicable to many who may in different ways be confined. Coping by creating includes a transformative aspect which involves an element of marking time and can lead to disintegration of the metaphorical barrier.
